In perfumery vocabulary, Skatole 50% in TEA is associated with jasmine-like in dilution, warm sweet, fruity in traces, animalic, mothball-like and faecal when concentrated. Its creative role is a deep base-note material with architectural presence, giving structure and character to complex accords.
In the organ, use it to build indolic white-floral realism, enrich animalic jasmine and tuberose and introduce trace warmth in leather and narcotic bouquets. As base note, it offers signature rather than mere theme.
